DDGM's Message:
Brethren:
How proud I am of our Fourteenth District! You did great work at our recent Exemplification. We were well-represented at the 275th Anniversary of our Grand Lodge, which was held on May 3 through 5, 2008. Seven of our nine lodges were represented. There were also Masons from five different continents in attendance. It is an exciting time to be a member of our great fraternity, with so many things happening.
I was happy to see so many in attendance at our Fraternal Visit on May 12, 2008, which was a Tri-Lodge Fraternal to Corinthian, Caleb Butler and Simon W. Robinson Lodges. The Host for this visit was Simon W. Robinson Lodge and the meeting was held in Lexington. It was a great night, as we observed the Rainbow Flag Ceremony, awarded four 50-Year Veteran's Medals and saw a very good conferral of the Felowcraft Degree on six candidates. We had 111 Masons in attendance and with our special guests from Rainbow, the Scholarship recipients and the families of the Medal recipients, we had almost 150 people total! That is a good crowd.
I have certainly enjoyed being with so many of you, especially our new brothers, as the District Officers travel around to see each of the lodges. Remember Lodge of Instruction on Thursday, June 5, to be held in Ayer (Caleb Butler Lodge), so please take note of the change of venue. Why not come out and represent your Lodge and see if YOU will make the difference in getting the Traveling Gavel for your Lodge! Just one more brother attending could make all the difference, so come out to support your Lodge and have an enjoyable evening, meet new brothers and learn more about the Craft.
The Grand Master's Fair on Sunday, June 8, which is open to all Masons and their families. The Multi-District Picnic at the Museum in Lexington on Sunday, June 22. These event always make for a fun day and a chance to renew old acquaintences, as well as make new ones!
I look forward to coming around again to all of the lodges in our district, awarding Fifty-Year Veterans' Medals (such an important part of our fraternity!) and meeting even more new brothers in our Craft.
Please contact me at anytime with questions you may have. Keep up the great work you are doing to support our great institution. Thank you very much.
